Abstract

We analyze data of 200 patients with positive tests for latent left-handedness and study of cognitive function using the author’s screening test. The age of the patients was from 30 to 65 years (on average 41.0 ± 5.3 years), of whom 116 (58.0 %) were men, 84 (42.0 %) — women. Using a standard study of the neurological status, the following neurological comorbid diagnoses were established: ischemic cerebral stroke — in 22 patients (11.0 %), discogenic-venous lumbosacral radiculomyeloischemia — in 74 (37.0 %), multiple sclerosis — in 16 (8.0 %), vegetative-vascular dystonia with hypothalamic paroxysms — in 74 (37.0 %), parkinsonism — in 14 (7.0 %). Studying the tests for latent left-handedness and the state of cognitive functions, in addition to the standard study of neurological status, significantly expand the range of diagnostic possibilities. Therapeutic and neurorehabilitation measures should be carried out taking into account the clinical symptoms and signs of all comorbid pathologies and adherence to the rules of good clinical practice.
