Changes in the Concentration of Vitamin D in the Blood Serum of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis as a Pathogenetic Factor of This Disease

According to current data, multiple sclerosis develops in people with a genetic predisposition to autoimmune diseases under the influence of environmental factors that also include a lack of vitamin D. The article presents the pathogenetic mechanisms of vitamin D influence on the development of multiple sclerosis. There were considered the changes in the concentration of vitamin D in the blood serum of 68 surveyed patients with multiple sclerosis, compared to apparently healthy individuals, depending on sex, age, duration of disease.References
