Causes of Reoperations in Nerve Injury of Upper and Lower Extremities

Abstract


Medical histories of 309 patients with injury of peripheral nerve of upper and lower extremities, who underwent reoperation due to unsatisfactory outcome of previous surgical treatment. The mistakes, made in the previous stages of treatment, have been studied, refined during repeated surgical interventions and divided into groups. To prevent the errors in treatment of patients with peripheral nerve damage there is need for: modern diagnostic equipment, the qualifications and experience of the operating surgeon, the presence of instruments, equipment, consumables for surgery, full rehabilitation activities.
