Assessment of Brain Tissue Damage Level Using Immuchemical Assay in Peracute Ischemic Stroke

Abstract


The article presents the results of clinical, neurological and immunological examination of 116 patients aged 36 to 69 years in peracute ischemic stroke. Patients were randomized by random numbers to group received treatment according to orders of Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine (№ 487, № 602), and to group which in addition to standard treatment received neuroprotective complex. Aim of this study was to determine the levels of neuron-specific proteins as markers of neuronal and glial damage, as well as the blood-brain barrier (BBB). For the first time there was created a brain antigen complex to determine the titer of antibodies to the white and gray matter of the brain. Using the methods of immunochemical assay it is proved that the inclusion of neuroprotective complex into the therapy of peracute ischemic stroke significantly improves the functional state of the neuronal and glial complex, prevents destruction of the BBB.
