Abstract

The article discusses and analyzes the current literature data on the incidence of post-stroke pneumonia, its negative impact on short-term and long-term consequences in terms of the functional state and the life of patients. An overview of the main risk factors for post-stroke pneumonia, mechanisms of its negative impact on the course of strokes, on the processes of post-stroke recovery has been carried out. The principles of early diagnosis, effective prevention and adequate treatment of post-stroke pneumonia are considered.
