Cardiocerebral continuum in hypertension: ways of correction

Abstract


The article considers the correlation of cardiocerebral and cerebrocardiac disorders, their features in hypertension. It is shown that the close relationship between vascular lesions of the brain and heart is determined by their etiopathogenetic unity. Particular attention is paid to metabolic changes that develop in cardiocerebral and cerebrocardiac syndromes and are manifested by an ischemic cascade. The predictors of development and ways of correction of these syndromes are considered. The positive role and importance of the cytoprotective component in the comprehensive therapy of this pathology is shown. The issue of correlation between hypertension and cognitive impairment is also considered. The influence of hypertension on the development of cognitive impairments, their pathogenesis and ways of correction are described. The effect of antihypertensive therapy on cognitive impairment and expediency of blood pressure correction in patients with cognitive impairment is discussed.
